Biographical Information
William "Bud" Abbott: born Asbury Park NJ, 1895. Parents were in circus troupe; joined the navy at 15, and was later a box-office clerk. Lou Costello: born Patterson NY, 1908. Began work as hat salesman, then became a boxer, and a stunt man for MGM. Abbott and Costello teamed up in 1930 in Brooklyn, doing 7 years in burlesque theaters.
